Someone commented on a Facebook post of mine the other day that I write books the way other women have babies. One a year.

I had never looked at it like that. But I was the woman that had 3 babies in 4 1/2 years. The books started just over a year after my last baby was born. She was so right!

It seems as if going into my 40th year my meed for creativity/nurturing hit overdrive…

Whilst arranging to meet up with a dear friend to give her a copy of my new book, Creatrix, to which she contributed, she said “I can’t wait to meet your baby.”

“I can’t bring him to the city,” I responded.

She’d been referring to this.

Whereas I had been talking about this little dude.

I concluded – it seems like I’ve had twins…and a very proud mama I am too.

I’ve been told not to apologise, but my Instagram feed is basically alternating cute kitten shots and rainbow book shots!

It’s been a crazy busy couple of weeks packing and dispatching the copies of Creatrix – and waiting in great anxiety for our shipment of books to arrive – which it did…in dribs and drabs. Oh the stress levels. But Ember has helped the last few days, lying on my chest, wrapped in my scarves. He purrs and grooms me whilst I work flat out on getting orders out to folks in time for Xmas.

All the signed pre-order copies have headed out from here now. And it’s all been totally worth it. Oh the joy seeing the copies starting to arrive and hearing the early feedback. I love seeing the rainbow cover in new readers’ homes.
