Following last week’s declaration of independence, I’ve been feeling freed up… and creative flow has poured in, once I was prepared to let go of the old.
So the Dreaming Aloud site will stay as a portal to my work as it is now…and it can also be accessed via lucyhpearce.com. I will be amalgamating my Dreaming Aloud and Happy Womb newsletters into one Lucy H. Pearce newsletter – so watch your inbox.
I look forward to this space as a place to share my voice and work… without apology or obligation… reflecting what is emerging for me…
I have put in place a work-in-progress new home page… a new call… that reflects me as I am now… it is a picture of the island from the beach I love to walk…. and the stone spiral I made with my women’s group… these are my muses… these are where I find my soul…
This feels like it communicates the soul of my work as it is now… It feels like a container for my emergence, fiery and fierce… watery and mystical.
Let me share my vision below with you.
To a place of revolutionary thoughts and burning words.
To an edgewalker’s notebook. A firebrand’s forge. A dreamer’s den. A sensitive soul’s sanctuary. A creative community.
A liminal space where the inner and outer worlds collide and words find form.
A place of emergence, rooted in the land and the heart.
Join me as an apprentice to the creative process…and dare to discover what it means to embody the power of the feminine in a world that has long forsaken it.
Here I will be exploring the heart, soul and guts of the creative process… knowing that our inner creative process echoes the outer one. When we are called to create, we are called to heal… ourselves, our communities, our connections to the natural world.
When we are called to create, we step into the fullness of our power.
Through my personal practice I have learned that to create, to heal, to pray, to make love, to give birth are one and the same process – one of stepping fully into our own agency and power whilst simultaneously surrendering completely to the life force that pulses through us. This is the magic and mystery of co-creation.
And yet it can also feel dangerous. It takes courage to break with the old stories and write brave new tales in our own hand, our own voice…
The creative process that we learn internally in our art practice, in our personal healing, in self expression, is the training ground for the courageous, transformational creativity that is called for right now to re-make our world and lead revolutions. Inner revolution must always preceded external revolutions if they are to be radical and systemic.
Here we are humble apprentices to the creative process as a radical revolutionary path of devotion…
And it starts from us, our own lives, from seeing our own stories as simply stories which can be reimagined. It requires hearing with new ears, seeing with new eyes – it takes courage to question what has always been a given, unquestionable reality… in order to transform it into something more beautiful.
We are asked to set fire to our lives and to traverse the darkness in the knowledge that we are the containers for great power which is needed now on earth.
Often we feel crazy or alone as we sail counter to all we have been taught. This is why community of fellow revolutionaries is so vital, supportive and nourishing as we have the courage to allow our lives to be fertile grounds for new visions. As we find our voices, we confront the danger of sharing our power with the world: a world that may not be open to what we have to share. We confront our fear of failure and rejection. Here we turn up, without shame, in our fullness, knowing that within the shadow lies the potential for transformation, that healing can be messy, that chaos is as crucial as order, that those who are visionary tend also to be sensitive and this is a gift to be cherished and understood not shamed and hidden – it is a place to come for guidance, support and a knowing that you are not alone. We are in this together.
Here we delve into the rawness of life, revelling in the taboo to find the power in the places they tell us not to look, daring to turn over the stones in our lives and see what lies underneath.
We are asked us to start now – not next year, not when we’re perfect, or when we have everything all set, not when we have the money or the childcare. Our guiding motto is: Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
You can start now. This moment. Stepping into your power is a practice, not a one-time thing.
You are enough, as you are. Right now. You do not need to do anything else, or be anything like anyone else.
You are exactly what’s needed.
You have permission.
All this and more is the unfolding story of Dreaming Aloud – told through my own personal explorations with the creative process… as writer, artist, publisher, teacher, mother, cultural revolutionary and dreamer.
This is a place of possibility, so lay your inner critic at the threshold and dare to step into vulnerability, into the space of what if, into the land of vast potential and the lakes of longing. Allow your soul to find its heartland, to remember what it means to celebrate and mourn, to birth and die, to create and let go – to follow the river of desire and breathe inspiration onto the embers of delight.
It is allowed, dreaming is allowed here. It is the twin sister of reality – the conjoined twin of destiny.
Step into it here.
Let worldly limitations fall away – the lines that divide life from art, amateur from professional, one discipline from another.
Here we see that the creative impulse is life itself – we access it through our creativity, our spirituality and our sexuality. Each are ways of exploring the infinite and surrendering to the mystery, playing peekaboo with the divine and dissolving into ecstasy. Each is a way to drop our everyday masks and tiptoe into our larger multidimensional selves.
This is a place of raw divinity. Imaginal cells forming a new a wondrous expression of consciousness which has never before existed on the planet.
It asks that we set down the heavy mantle of having to be good, right, perfect, better. Here we are all beginners playing in the sandbox, here we are all taking a moment to play hopscotch on the road, in the bigger journey of walking each other home.
Thank you for sharing it with me.
